GMD Receives Excellence in Financial Reporting
For the ninth consecutive year, GMD has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for their comprehensive annual financial reports (CAFR). The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.
GMD's fiscal year 2010 report was judged by an impartial panel to meet the highest standards of the program, including demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate people to read the report.
Lisa Hornyak, Chief Financial Officer, for GMD said, "This award is a reflection of GMD's commitment to transparency as well as the professional work of the entire finance department and GMD's leadership team."
The association is a nonprofit professional group with offices in Chicago and Washington, DC, serving about 17,500 government finance professionals.
