GREENWOOD METROPOLITAN DISTRICT

MINUTES OF THE September 24, 2008

Public Hearing

 

The public hearing of the Greenwood Metropolitan District Commission was held Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at 3:00 p.m., in the Training Room of Greenwood Metropolitan District Technical Service Facility, 110 Metro Drive, Greenwood, SC  29646.

 

In attendance:

Commissioner Bob Haynie, Chairman            Richard Coleman        Paige Holley

Commissioner Gene Hancock, Secretary        George Martin            Bill Moore

Commissioner Michael G. Monaghan             Wayne Daniel             Chris Trainor

Commissioner Henry Watts                            Gayle Grogan              Danny Ware

Commissioner Tim Burke                               Roy Hemphill

 

I.          Chairman Haynie called the meeting to order.

 

II.          Chairman Haynie read the Statement of Compliance with the notification provision

         of the Freedom of Information Act.

 

III.          Chairman Haynie read that the purpose of the public hearing is to receive

          public comments concerning a proposed resolution to amend the Rules and Regulations

          Governing Sewer Use, Industrial Pre-treatment Requirements, and Enforcement

          Responses which would allow for disconnections of sewer service not on the

          public water system in the event of non-payment.

 

IV.          Chairman Haynie sated the proposed change if approved will go into effect

           November 1, 2008.

 

V.          Chairman Haynie opened the public hearing to receive comments.

 

VI.          There were no comments from the public.

 

VII.          Chairman Haynie closed the public hearing.

 

VIII.          Chairman Haynie said this amendment would give Metro the right to disconnect

              the sewer users for non-payment where there is non public water service. 

 

IX.          Commissioner Watts made a motion to amend the Rules and Regulations to allow

           for disconnections of sewer service in the event of non-payment for non public

           water users; Commissioner Hancock seconded, and the motion was

           unanimously approved. 

 

X.          With no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
