The
Maintenance Department has a continual preventive and
corrective maintenance program in place, and is responsible
for all preventive and corrective maintenance at the West
Alexander and Wilson Creek Wastewater Treatment Plants.
In
addition, the maintenance department is also responsible for
all maintenance of the 30 pump stations located throughout
the District. Pump stations are used to supplement the
gravity collection system by raising wastewater over hills.
There are thirty pump stations in Greenwood Metropolitan
District. A pump station may be needed when an entry point
is downhill from the regional gravity system or an existing
building or environmentally sensitive area must be bypassed.
