Greenwood Metropolitan District is governed by a board of six commissioners, three of which are appointed by the Governor of the State of South Carolina upon the recommendation of the Greenwood Legislative Delegation. Three additional commissioners serve by virtue of their election as a Commissioner of Public Works for the City of Greenwood.
